Registered Manager – Independent Fostering Agency (IFA)

Salary: £45,000–£75,000 per annum
Location: Home-based with regular travel

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage an Independent Fostering Agency, ensuring high standards of care, regulatory compliance and positive outcomes for children and young people.

You will oversee the day-to-day running of the service, lead a team of fostering professionals, support foster carer recruitment and assessments, and ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and fostering regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the fostering service, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and National Minimum Standards.
• Lead foster carer recruitment, assessments, approvals and retention.
• Oversee Form F assessments, fostering panels, training and annual reviews.
• Ensure effective safeguarding, placement matching and support for children and foster carers.
• Lead staff recruitment, supervision, training and performance management.
• Monitor service quality, compliance, policies and procedures.
• Build effective relationships with local authorities and partner agencies.
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing an Independent Fostering Agency or fostering service.
• Minimum of two years' management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, fostering regulations and safeguarding.
• Experience undertaking Form F assessments.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to undertake.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Additional Information

This is a home-based role requiring regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
