Deputy Care Home Manager

Are you an experienced Deputy Manager looking for your next opportunity within a well-established nursing and residential care setting?

We are recruiting for a confident and compassionate Deputy Care Home Manager to support the day-to-day running of a successful care home. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of care, supporting and developing the staff team and ensuring residents receive truly person-centred support.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

• Support the Home Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to nurses, care assistants and support staff
• Take responsibility for the service in the Home Manager’s absence when required
• Ensure residents receive high-quality, individualised and person-centred care
• Monitor residents’ needs and ensure care plans are accurate and regularly reviewed
• Carry out staff supervisions, appraisals and identify training and development needs
• Support, mentor and motivate the team to maintain high standards
• Ensure the home operates in line with CQC requirements and relevant legislation
• Take an active role in safeguarding and ensure any concerns are identified and appropriately reported
• Oversee safe medication practices and ensure appropriate procedures are followed
• Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies
• Support infection control, health and safety and regulatory compliance
• Help create a positive, welcoming environment for residents and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Deputy Manager within a care home setting
• Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
• Experience supervising and developing care teams
• Good understanding of safeguarding procedures
• A genuine passion for delivering excellent care
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to build excellent relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals
• A person-centred approach with the ability to involve residents and families in care planning
• The confidence to support the Home Manager with the overall management of the service
