CNC MILLER - PROGRAMMER / SETTER

With continued growth and a strong order book, our client is seeking an experienced CNC Miller - Programmer / Setter to join a well-established precision engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist confident in programming and setting CNC milling machines and producing complex, high-value components to demanding standards.

Candidate Requirements

Time-served CNC machinist with relevant engineering training and qualifications.

Ideally qualified to GCSE level with City & Guilds, ONC or an equivalent engineering qualification.

Strong experience working within a precision engineering or closely related manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to programme and set CNC milling machining centres.

A good understanding of materials, machining methods and the production of components to tight tolerances.

Ideally be flexible to occasional overtime when the business needs require

Key Responsibilities

Programme and set CNC milling machining centres for low-volume, high-value component manufacture.

Interpret engineering drawings and computer-generated models to determine machining requirements.

Apply practical knowledge of materials, tooling and machining methods to achieve accurate results.

Produce complex precision components consistently within specified tolerances and quality requirements.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience programming CNC milling machining centres using Heidenhain and especially Hurco controls would be a distinct advantage, and proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3D CAD modelling, CNC programming, toolpath generation, machining simulation, and process optimisation.
