Location: Stockport
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established design and construction business delivering high-quality new build and refurbishment projects across residential and commercial properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys being hands-on and taking responsibility for projects from initial planning through to successful completion. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, consultants, designers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.

The role would suit someone with a strong background in construction who is confident managing multiple stakeholders and coordinating projects from pre-construction through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects from start to finish.
  • Manage new build, refurbishment, alteration and conversion projects across residential and commercial properties.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, designers and site personnel.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, resources and procurement.
  • Monitor progress on site and ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and progress meetings with clients and project teams.
  • Liaise directly with clients, providing regular updates on project progress, costs and any potential issues.
  • Identify and resolve construction, design and programme issues as they arise.
  • Review drawings, specifications and construction information to ensure projects are delivered correctly.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant building regulations, health & safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Manage variations, delays, risks and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate inspections, approvals and handover requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records and reports.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, budget and timescale.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider design and construction team to achieve the best possible project outcomes.

About You

The successful candidate will have proven experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry, ideally with experience across both residential and commercial projects.

You will be organised, commercially aware and confident managing projects from inception through to completion. The ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors and internal teams is essential.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
