Job Description – Engineer

Reports to: Chief Engineer

Overview

John Hargreaves is the UK’s longest established and one of the most highly respected independent manufactures of corrugated board, corrugated sheet and corrugated rolls for box makers and the packaging industry

From the incoming raw materials, that is all obtained either from recycled stocks or from certified sustainable sources, we manufacture our own Kraft and Test paper and board products to match the required specifications. We produce our own corrugated to a catalogue of flute profiles and fabricate our finished single face and double face products to match top industry standards or to meet a customers own bespoke specifications

The Engineer will work with other engineers and company personal to ensure the continuous running of our production performing key maintenance as needed.

General Duties:

• To assist with the everyday running and maintenance of our corrugated board manufacturing process.
• Preventative maintenance and break down repairs
• Liaising with company personal
• Multitasking proactively pre-empting problems
• Completing emergency maintenance when equipment breaks down
• Keeping a record of preventative and reactive maintenance carried out
• Ordering required parts from suppliers
• Ensuring the organisation complies with safety regulations while maintenance takes place
• Fault finding
• Calibration of equipment and system components
• Servicing and refurbishing old machinery
• Mechanical and electrical assembly
• Inspection of machine parts
• Machine diagnostics

Experience and Education Required/Desired:

• Experience with demanding production expectations
• Time served in engineering - experience gained / workshop skills - lathe
• Working Safely in an Engineering Environment

Shift – weekly rotation

06:00 – 14:00

14:00 – 22:00
