Mig Welder

Salary: £13.00 – £16.00 per hour

A well-established and growing manufacturing business with over 50 years of industry experience is looking to expand its welding team. Based in modern facilities in Chadderton, this is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive environment.

 Role:

We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder with at least 2 years’ experience working with mild steel to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality welds in line with engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with UK safety and quality standards.

?? Key Responsibilities:

Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components to specification

Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols

Set up and adjust welding equipment, including wire speed, voltage, and gas flow

Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning

Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards (e.g., BS EN standards)

Perform basic fabrication and assembly work

Maintain welding tools and equipment

Follow all Health & Safety regulations (HSE guidelines)

Ensure work is completed within deadlines and production targets

Skills:

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good time management

Problem-solving mindset

Will be able to conduct a short on-site weld test.
