Reporting To: Project Manager
Statement of Role.
Reporting to the Project Manager you will be working as a member of the Electrical Team; the purpose of the role is to provide a high quality electrical service. You will work with Norwood’s electrical team under the supervision of your Project Manager, ensuring compliance by working to electrical regulations and standards.
You will be asked to carry out a range of task’s that you are competent to do so or will receive additional training to gain competency.
Tasks you may be required to undertake. (dependent on competency)
Main Duties
- Assist in the installation, testing and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using both hand tools and power tools.
- Assist in fault diagnosis using testing equipment, hand tools and carry out any repairs as required.
- Adopt a right first-time approach.
- Assist with scoping of works and assist the electrical team with RAMS as and when required.
- To identify hazards, defects and a requirement for adjustment or repair ensuring compliance with legislation and codes of practice.
- To assist in Electrical installation, small works, testing, and repair works in line with the company’s action plans.
- Carry out inspection and testing of installed systems and equipment to company and NICEIC standards.
- To carry out a varied range of electrical tasks assisting colleagues as required.
- To ensure a high standard of housekeeping whilst works are progressing.
- To ensure that all methods of works comply with the company’s policies, in particular health & safety.
- To ensure installations are completed to high standards and to the program timetable.
Administration
- Managing your own workload to deliver customer requirements in line with their expectations whilst on site.
- Managing signing in/out process at client sites.
- Saving & sending of reports and data to the office in line with the relevant process and procedures.
- Communicating with the relevant operation admin and management staff regarding progress of assigned works.
- Ensuring that you hold sufficient stock of items on your vehicle that you need to complete allotted tasks and requesting more stock as and when needed.
- Ensuring that all equipment supplied by the company is stored, operated, and maintained in the correct manner.
Customer Service
- Maintain proactive, dynamic, and effective communication with clients.
- Offer flexible and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- To efficiently diagnose and repair faults in accordance with induction training.
- To liaise with the Senior Scheduling Co-Ordinator regarding work schedules and to liaise with other staff at all levels whilst on site.
- To maintain an acceptable ‘timekeeping’ track record, ensuring that start and finish times are adhered to, as directed by the PM.
- Dealing with any client queries whilst on site, arising from on-site activities, where needed.
- Efficiently communicate the clients’ requirements to the office.
Operational Performance
- To complete all paperwork and download on time and efficiently.
- Ensure that all data is sent to the correct email address in the correct format as specified.
- To comply with current uniform standards, ensuring that company uniform and standards are upheld to the highest level.
- To perform other ‘ad-hoc’ duties as directed by the company.
