Job Overview:
We are looking for a keen Junior Architectural Technician to support the design team in developing, preparing, managing technical drawings and associated documentation for new and existing building projects across the industrial and commercial sector.
This role involves assisting with design development, producing accurate technical details, ensuring compliance with current planning laws, building regulations and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings using AutoCAD
- Support senior staff in producing detailed construction drawings, plan’s, elevations, sections, and schedules.
- Co-ordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure designs meet technical, structural, and regulatory requirements.
- Research and apply relevant building codes, materials, and construction methods.
- Prepare documentation for planning submissions, building permits, and tender packages.
- Assist in site visits and surveys, recording measurements and documenting existing conditions.
- Maintain organised drawing files, project documentation and technical specifications.
- Contribute to project meetings and collaborate effectively with the design team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree certification within the Architectural sector (Technician / Technologist)
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and familiarity with BIM principles.
- Has an excellent understanding of construction
- A good understanding of planning and building regulation’s
- Strong technical drawing and drafting skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles.
- Understanding of Breeam
- Revit experience ideal but not essential
- Exposure to project management tools and workflows.
