As a key member of the purchasing team, the successful candidate will be based at our Manchester Office and will be responsible for purchasing administration tasks and ensuring the efficient ordering of goods. This will include obtaining suppliers, agreeing prices, managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

Responsibilities:-

  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Generate and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date purchasing and administrative records.
  • Work with other departments within the business to assess and confirm purchasing requirements.
  • Provide general administrative support across the business.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls appropriately and take messages when required.
  • Receive, monitor, and respond to email correspondence.
  • Conduct research and gather information as required.
  • Carry out general office duties including photocopying, scanning, and document preparation.
  • Check and match receipts, delivery notes, and invoices.
  • Support managers and colleagues across a range of administrative and procurement tasks.
  • Complete forms and documentation as requested.

The successful candidate:-

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
  • Confidence in negotiating prices with suppliers.
  • Experience within the property or construction industry would be highly advantageous. *
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate and thorough work.
  • Reliable with strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
