Based in Manchester, we manage multiple office and industrial properties across the North West and West Midlands, supporting both existing buildings and new build developments.
The Role
As a key member of IPS’s facilities team, the successful candidate will be based at our Manchester office and support the day to day management of Pin Property’s commercial buildings. The role involves travel to other sites and offers structured training toward a full Facilities Manager role.
Reporting to: Buildings Manager
- You will work under the supervision of the Buildings Manager and assist with all operational, compliance, and tenant facing tasks.
- You will not be expected to operate as a standalone Facilities Manager initially.
- This is a development focused role aimed at building experience for progression within facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support routine maintenance, repairs, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Liaise with and coordinate contractors (cleaning, security, HVAC, lifts, maintenance)
- Ensure communal areas are safe, clean, and fully operational
- Assist with health & safety and statutory compliance requirements
- Support the coordination of risk assessments (fire, legionella, general H&S)
- Maintain compliance records and building documentation
- Act as a point of contact for tenants, handling enquiries and service requests
- Support move-ins, move-outs, and access arrangements
- Assist with monitoring building security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms)
- Support responses to building issues and emergencies with senior oversight
About You
- Some experience in facilities, property management, building operations, or contractor coordination
- Comfortable working across multiple sites
- Confident communicating with tenants, contractors, and colleagues
- Organised, reliable, and keen to learn
- Basic awareness of health & safety or compliance (training provided)
- Looking to progress into a Facilities Manager role over time
