Senior Night Care Worker
Location: Ancoats, M12
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours/week over an 8-week rota
Salary:
Are you an experienced care professional with a passion for delivering high-quality support during night hours? We’re looking for a Senior Night Care Worker to lead a small team and ensure the highest standards of care for our residents.
As a Senior Night Care Worker, you’ll supervise and support night staff, administer medication, and provide compassionate care to residents—particularly those with alcohol-related dementia and other complex needs. You’ll be the key point of contact during night shifts, ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of night care workers.
- Administer medication safely and accurately.
- Monitor residents’ well-being and provide personal care.
- Offer emotional support, especially to those with memory loss or behavioural challenges.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents during the night.
- Maintain detailed care records and liaise with day staff and management.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment throughout the night.
- Provide occasional cover for day shifts during staff absences or holidays.
- Participate in training and team meetings.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working night shifts in a care setting.
- Proven experience in medication administration.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Understanding of alcohol-related dementia (desirable).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Willingness to work occasional day shifts for training and support.
