Town and County Planner – Join Our Planning & Development Team

We’re looking for a driven Town and County Planner to join our growing team of professionals in shaping the communities of tomorrow. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement effective planning strategies for a range of urban and rural projects. Work closely with design teams, architects, and other professionals to bring projects from concept to approval.
  • Planning Applications: Prepare, coordinate, and submit detailed planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national policies.
  • Policy Advice: Provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders on planning policies, keeping abreast of regulatory changes and government legislation.
  • Appeals Management: Handle planning appeals from start to finish, including preparing statements, representing the company, and liaising with legal advisors when needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise effectively with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Representation: Act as our planning lead at planning committee meetings and public consultations, advocating confidently for proposals.

About You:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar planning role.
  • Proven experience with residential planning applications, from small-scale developments to larger schemes.
  • Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Confident representing clients or projects in formal and public settings.
  • RTPI membership or working towards it (desirable).
