Purpose of the role

We are looking for a dynamic person to work at our company based in Devon which provides bespoke waveguide products for Medical, Defence and Telecommunications industries.

The position is for a production co-ordinator and requires a team player who is prepared to be flexible and work within a small company environment.  

Ensuring goods are manufactured in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications. Ensuring goods are ready to distribute to customers in a timely fashion. Helps to Improve the company's production and distribution processes. Ensures the production and distribution of products runs smoothly.

Duties and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: -

 

Developing a robust production schedule, ensuring customer demand is met, whilst considering production optimization.

Ensuring labour requirements are met and shortages are communicated where required.

Evaluating raw material and all other bill of material requirements to ensure everything is in place to meet production requirements.

Tracking and reporting the progress of goods as they are being manufactured to ensure they remain on schedule. Liaising with all departments and communicating any issues that may arise.

Evaluate production and supplier performance, recommend improvement to any areas which are directly impacting the planning process/performance.

Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust production schedules as needed, ensuring schedules are such as to ensure production optimization.

Generation and distribution of KPI’s. This includes analysing, communicating and completion of any identified continuous improvements. Including process flows & operational costs.

 

 

Essential

 

Personal Qualities / Qualifications

Previous experience in a production planning capacity

 

Possess strong planning and analysis skills with the ability to implement processes and procedures and to track progress.

 

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Excellent organisational skills, initiative, attention to detail.

 

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel.

 

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ERP/MRP systems experience required.
