Team Leader Job Description
Reports to Service Manager
Responsible for core staff team within home
The expected role of the Team Leader is to oversee the homes. Provide guidance for staff and supervising day to running of their environment and ensuring young person’s needs are being fully met and that support is at its optimum level.
Team Leader should be checking through all paperwork ensuring the quality of recording and reporting and offering guidance to the staff team through identifying training needs, feeding back all information to Service Managers. Team Leaders should participate in the on-call system when on shift being the first point of contact for Staff and completing welfare calls to homes in the evening and will be expected to take an active role in the on-call rota and for 1 full week on a rolling rota (how often will depend on how many team leaders are employed). They are responsible for delegating tasks to the staff team working with them, identifying specific training needs and/or strengths and utilising them in a way which brings about best practice and work product.
The physical environment of the home is monitored by the service manager, and management of appointments, staffing, and keeping up to date with legislation and frameworks whilst working in a person-centred way with young people and staff.
As per the contract any employee will be responsible for meeting the needs of the organisation in which these are non-restrictive and can be altered at any time as dictated by need as can location of employment.
