Taylor Engineering & Plastics are pleased to share that a vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer.

Department: Maintenance - will be based across 5 sites, all within a close proximity to each other in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom.

Working hours: 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday & 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all plant and equipment are functioning correctly and optimised.
  • Continual improvement of equipment
  • Introduction of corporate engineering systems, incorporating new technology innovations
  • Keep up to date with new regulations
  • Ensure that all standards are kept up to date
  • Ensure that all equipment meets European machinery standards
  • Maintaining records, documentation and organisation of data.
  • Inclusion in the preventative maintenance program
  • Adhere to 5S system and good housekeeping.

Required qualifications:

  • ONC/HNC, BTEC, City & Guilds, time served engineer
  • Industrial electrician, 17th Edition

Essential skills:

  • Experience of various computer packages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Daily engineering administrative duties
  • Self-development with maintaining knowledge of current regulations.
  • Good fault finding abilities and resolving issues in a breakdown environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical machinery and polyurethane processing equipment
  • Knowledge and fault finding with PLC systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Desirable skills:

  • Administration skills
  • Dealing and communicating with suppliers
  • Dealing, communicating and working with contractors
  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus experience
  • Fork Lift Truck counterbalance experience
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform experience
  • Mobile scaffold tower build competent
  • Incipient Fire Control (use of fire extinguishers)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £36,000.00-£38,000.00 per year (depending on experience) – this is currently being reviewed
