JOB DESCRIPTION:   SKILLED PANEL BUILDER LEVEL 1/2

FUNCTIONAL AREA: PRODUCTION

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: PERMANENT

SALARY / WAGE: TBC

 

SPECIFICATION (ESSENTIAL & DESIRED SKILLS):

Responsibility to build panel products individually and / or part of a team which meet the company and client expectations in cost and quality to give the company a competitive edge in the market place.  To represent the company in a positive and professional manner when working on client installations or facilities.

 

You should be competent in all areas covering Panel Builder Level 1/2 and Semi Skilled Panel Builder Level ½.

You should have passed through internal / external training to the requirements as set out by the Shop Floor Supervisor / Production Manager and Company Standards in Call Out duty and Fault Diagnosis.

You will be required to participate in the Call Out rota.

You should have the ability to attend site and take the lead with other skilled personnel on lower skill grades.

Good communication skills at all levels both verbally and with written report writing for site work accomplished.

A sound working understanding of Health & Safety practices and the ability to actively create an environment of safety consciousness and awareness.

You should take full responsibility for your own and others safety by identifying and reporting unsafe practices / procedures.

 

You should ensure that your work area is clean and tidy at all times and that it is cleared and equipment safely stored at the end of every working day in line with company standards / policies.

 

If you hold a Fork Lift licence in line with company policy you must ensure that the charging of the Fork Lift Truck battery is completed weekly / or when applicable via the shop floor rota.

 

Through training to the requirements as set out by the Shop Floor Supervisor / Production Manager you should be able to complete safe testing in line with company policy.

You should be able to have the ability to readily visit site pre work and perform a risk and method study for Technical Engineering to create M & R documents for the client.

You should take full responsibility for your own and others safety by identifying and reporting unsafe practices / procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

 

  • You should have undertaken and achieved a recognised apprenticeship and / or

relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification.

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work to the standards expected in a safe and

orderly manner.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):

 

  • You may have or be working towards City and Guilds ONC.
  • Have a vast experience and is able to demonstrate the ability to work to the

standards expected in a safe and orderly manner.
